At both end-user and merchant levels, credit card transactions may necessitate questioning and clarifying particular transactions or charges. Typically the card issuer’s service-center will ask to receive copies of the questionable or disputed transaction. These can be faxed into the service center. Intelligent routing can be used to direct these faxes to appropriate recipients, up to and including delivery to a specific service agent’s desktop or mailbox. Service centers can also respond to the originator of the inquiry via fax, from desktop or internal application.
